Small Town in News Print

a Friday afternoon trip to the mail box always offers a bit of excitement.... local paper day!  And this week was extra special because Reid got his picture in the paper (dresses up in his tiger costume, doing his library craft), but also too add to my joy was this little nugget in the RCMP report:

October 23, 2011
Police received a complaint of cows on Hwy 3, 4 miles west of Hwy 10. Members attended to find 4 cows outside the fence on the north side of the road. Members along with the help of the cattle owners managed to wrangle 3 of the 4 cows back into the field.  The final Cow refused to co-operate with police.  It did not seem to matter what tactics members used to corral the cow she managed to slip free and continue resisting.  Members then tried direct communication with the Cow in it own language to obtain control of the cow.  The cow immediately turned and squared off with member, grunting and snorting at the members and was treating a charge.  One final battle scream was heard from the cow in the form of a threatening moo and members prepared for the worst.  The cow then suddenly backed down and complied with members commands, finally understanding that this was a lose lose scenario for her. All cattle were put back into the field the no incident. (emphasis added by me)

I laughed until I had tears,  thank you Boissevain RCMP and Recorder for have a good sense of humor. (ps these were not our cows although the land description is very close to our house)
