it is a oldie but a goodie

two stories that make me wonder is my music old?

one happened while we were working at a high school as dorm parents (5 years ago), I was sitting in one of the girls rooms and they were showing me the newest video of their favorite band "Tokyo hotel"
They we exclaiming how hot the lead singer was...
"oh" i say " he looks like Eddie Vedder"
nothing... honestly crickets and blank stares
"Who's Eddie Vedder?" they asked
"Who's Eddie Vedder, who's Eddie Vedder. The lead singing of pearl jam"
again cricket and blank stares then it hit one girl
"oh pearl jam I think my older brother listened to them, they are from a different era..."

...that different era was my music...

The second illustration happened tonight I was listening to Vinyl Tap with Randy Bauchman (you know the show were they play the real oldies)  and the theme of the evening was "what was your first record?"
While listening to the Beatles and Elvis I started thinking what was my first "record" I would say the blue album by Wheezer (I bought it from a guy in my grade 10 math class) Oh how I loved "Buddy Holly", "My Name is Jonas"etc.
Just then Randy starts talking about the next letter, "a band who played in the "Happy days" "the last great rock and roll band"... from 1994 the blue album by Wheezer "Buddy Holly".

Now I was quite excited to hear my song and danced around the bathroom with Reid, but I couldn't help thinking does this mean it is a Oldie... after all Randy Bauchman is playing it...
