Nursery School; dyi style

Who is to say small towns don't offer any opportunities, small towns are full of opportunities, you just have to fall into them....

If I were a still city girl a 1 1/2 years ago I would have started looking for an appropriate nursery school to send my boys to, I would read flyers and websites, ask other moms, worry about if I was making the right decision or not, but I didn't quite have that "luxury" here, instead during a conversation with a few moms I asked question "why isn't there a nursery school here in town?" and with that on innocent question I fell into the roll of vice-president of the board of the brand new Boissevain nursery school. August (2011) we were incorporated, we started raising money and looking for a venue, we went through 3 venues and finally in June (after pre-registering 15 children, thank you parents who had faith that we would pull it off) we were able to officially say that we would be running a nursery school out of a classroom in the school. During this year and a half: 2 of us board members have had babies, one had a major job change, 2 of us moved, and all of us learned the ins and outs of opening a government licenced nursery school (lots of useless paper work). The last month has been full of meetings, toy washing/sorting, thousands lots of emails, on top of harvest, gardening and a not sleeping baby, after all the work I was so exhausted relieved happy when yesterday I was be able to take Reid to his first day of nursery school, not only was it a huge day for him, but for the group of us moms (and 1 dad) it was a wonderful feeling to be apart of something that will hopefully serve our community for years to come.

Here is Reid being superfunny pretending that his backpack was too heavy, he couldn't even stand for the picture

To add to the crazy: it was also Dexter's 3rd Birthday - new shark hoodie!
