so what have you been doing this summer?

Me?  I've been mowing...
and a few other things but mainly mowing...
we have received over 15inchs of rain this summer ...
yes us farmers keep track of stuff like this...
on our smart phones no less...
anyway until this week it has also been unseasonably cool, perfect conditions for grass to grow like crazy, I try not to complain about the weather so  I  spend every spare moment of my summer mowing...
every spare MOMENT...
really...
think of all I could of accomplished this summer....

I don't mind mowing most of the time, it allows me to sit with my thoughts...
uninterrupted...
which doesn't happen much...

besides mowing this is what we have done...

Camping:

Notice the first pictures it was sunny warm...
our second trip not so much...
Camping with a camper is so wonderful and luxurious...
especially when it rains and the temps drop

Hosting Friends:

(Bee..what's with our 5 year olds!?!!)

Hosting Family:

my brothers taught the boys about video games...

spent some time at the lake... took a pathetic amount of photos but this is one of my favorite of my  niece

Went to Camp:

went zip lining..

well I did, Reid made it 3/4 up the ladder and freaked out, but he is still the youngest to try!

 Played with sticks

 Made Popcorn over a fire

Went on a boat... We had such a fun time, I cooked in the kitchen and while the boys hung out with their baby sitter, we will try to fit in more "camp" in the future!

Shingled the roof:

Did you know you could shingle 2 houses in 4 days... yup can be done with lots of friends, hard work and good food!!!  (guess which part I was in charge of??? nope not air nailer)

The weather has changed, it has finally quit raining, and we are getting some heat, things are about to get even crazier as harvest and my first ever "back to school" are about to collide... thank goodness my mom is showing up for a "working" holiday (her words) in 5 sleeps...
 just breath...
and mow...
it will all get done....
it always does...
eventually
