This is probably my favorite picture that I took all of 2013.
Here is Reid getting ready for his debut in the Primary Christmas Concert...
I didn't believe he would actually get up on stage *and* sing a song with actions,
those 2 things did not go together in my understanding of who Reid is.
it is has been a tough fall...
kindergarten has been hard on this little guy...
we spent many morning in tears waiting for the bus...
many conversations with teachers figuring out how to make kindergarten bearable for a child
who doesn't like structure
doesn't like change
and doesn't really like being around people.
But somewhere in the process Reid has become his own little man,
deifying the expectations of his mother,
somewhere along the line he has developed confidence,
courage,
style
and a crazy sense of humor
his sixth birthday was last week
the plans were set, the cake was baked, the party was planned
until we woke up to a winter storm
roads closed all over the province
some of the most important party guest... the cousins... couldn't make it.
so we cancelled with the hopes to reschedule this week, again, the plans were in place...
again the need to cancel
so we asked him what he wanted
today..
even if it is just us..
so we celebrated...
a quick trip into Brandon for some silly moose hats and glow bowling.
we finished the day with crepes, superbowl, cake decorating and some great friends
yup six should be a good year...
