I haven't had much to write about these days so I thought I would share a story from a while ago that personifies what it means to be a mom to little farm boys...
This is one of Reid's favorite things, his tractor and baler, which he got for Christmas just before he turned two. The pair quickly became his prize possessions, the tractor fit perfectly in one hand and the baler in the other. For hours he would drive them on the floor, making pretend bales, unhooking the tractor and hooking it back up again. Reid took them everywhere, even insisted on sleeping with them.
One afternoon in February, grandpa George was hanging out with him while I was out. When I got back, my father-in-law mentioned that when he got Reid up from his nap he smelled a bit, but once they got down stairs there was no more smell so he hadn't bothered changing him. So I checked his diaper- no poop, and figuring it was just a toot didn't think much about it. Later on that night after I had gotten Reid ready for bed, we set out to find the tractor and baler for bedtime. In the moment that he held his precious tractor and baler up I smelled a very suspicious smell, and...
he says "poopy"
"Oh no! Did you poop your diaper?"
"no, poopy," opening his baler to reveal the " bale" he had made out of the "field" that was his diaper during nap time.
yup, being a mom to little farm boys is not for the faint of heart...

lisa. that. is. awesome.
but it kinda makes me glad I have a girl (so far!). The closest I get to poop stories is the one she made in the yard today when she told me she was going to pee in the grass.
I literally laughed out loud when I read that! We lived with our two nephews for 11 months before we bought our place here. Anything is a toy and an inspiration for their imagination! That's a great memory!
